Glasgow weather, despite the city’s placement on the same latitude line as Moscow, is classified as oceanic. Positioned to the west and close to the warm Atlantic Ocean, it lies in the path of existing westerly winds, in one of Scotland's milder areas with moderate conditions. Glasgow weather during the summer months (June to September) is unpredictable starting off as misty days, and varying anywhere from mild and wet weather or warm and sunny. July and August are the warmest months averaging highs of around 20 °C, average sunshine is 6.1 hours per day in June.
